NRP 72: launch of second call

NRP 72 is launching a second call to fill specific research gaps.

The first projects of NRP 72 got underway at the beginning of January 2017. They cover most of the research questions in all three modules of the programme: 1. Development and spread of resistance, 2. New drugs and faster diagnostic techniques, 3. Optimised use of antibiotics. Only a few research gaps remain. By launching a second call, the Steering Committee is hoping to close them.

Submission deadline for letters of intent: 1 March 2017

For the second call, the NRP has a budget of CHF 4 million. This should be sufficient to fund around ten new projects. Researchers who are interested in the call are invited to submit a letter of intent to nfp72@snf.ch by 1 March 2017. If the proposed project is not in line with the aims of the second call, the Steering Committee will inform the applicants by the end of March. All other applicants will have the opportunity to submit a full proposal until 26 June 2017, 17:00 CET.

Clearly defined topics

Projects of the second call must fall into clearly defined areas. Module 1: projects pursuing a One Health approach, i.e. combining at least two of the three areas human medicine, veterinary medicine and environmental sciences. Module 2: projects developing new diagnostic methods. Module 3: additional projects in intervention studies.
