Federal Council approves National Strategy against Antibiotic Resistance
On 18 November, the Federal Council approved the widely backed National Strategy against Antibiotic Resistance (StAR).
StAR was developed in close cooperation with the Federal Offices of Public Health (FOPH), Food Safety and Veterinary Affairs (FSVO), for Agriculture (FOAG) and the Environment (FOEN) as well as the cantons and other stakeholders. It highlights areas in which action is needed, it defines targets and measures to achieve them.
Karin Wäfler, project leader of the Swiss National Strategy against Antibiotic Resistance (StAR) at the Swiss Federal Office of Public Health represents the Federal Government within NRP 72 and ensures knowledge exchange between NRP and Federal offices.
